Farewell Guv, Hello Energy Welfare Queen
I may have more to say about Cap and Trade but Palin's Cap and Tax hit needs only a check of her accounting.
Maybe I won't, but I will be back on sabbatical. Meanwhile I leave with this segment of an email exchange:(slightly adapted)
I should have been reading this but maybe not.
I think I will agree with much of it, but I think my last email covered the change problem. But don't worry. I do not think that capitalism will be destroyed, and socialism is just a boogie cognomen. Just how do you think it would work if we could find anyone that could fix the economy who had not been a part of creating it? I don't know if Obama has the right people but others could be standing in the way of potentially right or left people. I mean if the complaint as O'Reilly put it is that somebody will make billions, well duh. Doesn't that support the system? Well not the system, but as most conservatives argue for it.

Update
Since my sabbatical began, a lot has happened. Palin is trying to escape from hot water, Cheney is finally getting warm and the CIA has its own bubbles, while Supreme Court nominee Sonja Sotomayor begins her confirmation hearings.
[There seems to be a misuse of words and wise old men and wise old women in the attack on Judge Sotomayor which is actually an agism. For it is context that matters and wisdom is hard to pin on age. In fact it is hard to deny that experiences are a key ingredient in wisdom if not related to age.]
[Jeffrey Toobin CNN: "applying the law is not a judicial philosophy" after defending the right to decide confirmation on ideological differences, yet it seems similar to the judicial philosophy of the right. Republicans sure can complicate meanings, like having your cherry picked apples and oranges cake and eating it too.]

Voodoo Economics Redux?
Or is it Tri-ducks, not in a row.
Not really meaning third times a charm, but that it ducks the question and begs the future. Calculations cannot be made based on terms of infinity, it should seem. The faux principle of gravity or trickle down or Laffer curve should not be calculable without understanding of the curve if not calculus.
[The reference to the Laffer curve is the assumptions that differ based on which side of the bell curve one is on when changes are made. It would seem that their might be a similar point if not additional principle or missing factor that could make any argument based on "generational accounting" irrelevant.]

It seems that if the criticisms this energy plan, as well as that of the public component(The Ed Show) of health care reform have any merit, it will mean that there is no invisible hand of the market. If the competition that a not-for-profit health care option provides will do in the insurance industry, and if a market solution to incentivize pollution reduction is not feasible, then the market might not be the arena that solutions can be found. Maybe the solution would then be found in demand side economics. And given the compromises that comprise the effort to be non-partisan[*], further amendments should be well considered as to not weaken the progress or threaten failure, as further pressure for change might result.

Congratulations Chris Matthews for holding the level playing field on health care*. Not to mention how careful polls are used.

Public concern does not mean opposition to addressing them with a public plan. More people (79%-84%) are concerned with the quality, cost, choice and the deficit than support a public plan, but that makes them concerned not overriding or "right wingers" of the 76% for a public plan. They also support President Obama more than 2 to 1 over Republicans on health care reform. In fact no specific plan is associated with either the public's concerns or the president's approval over health care reform.

Make it so.
No Captain Picard.
Some think President Obama has done too much already. Others think he has not done enough. The problem, is they are on both sides of the partisan divide. Some don't even understand the divide. Tea Party goers are a good example. Spurred by Libertarians and encouraged by the further right (or wrong) "just say no" crowd. Another good example is the stimulus package. "It was too much." [* update correction] Yet only a portion has gotten out yet. Which some confuse with the bailout, and others the budget or fiscal responsibility. Even bankruptcy is not recognized as a process rather than an end.
But I think that one of the main ideas in the slow rate of change for some social and legal issues is the balance of powers. Congress makes laws and the executive should follow them. Sometimes by not following them, the laws are changed, and sometimes by following them. It would not really be non-partisan or even good for a party, if the Justice Department did not do its job with the laws it has or the executive get too involved in changing them beyond his actual power to execute them.
The other is that the president has an agenda. To fix the economy, by focusing on education, energy and health care reform, and to be a leader in the world that the world can follow. He is not the bringer or breaker of laws, but he is burdened with alot on the table including a congress that is not of one mind, even if it has a partisan majority.

Dividing Not Uniting

Republican Study Committee needs more study.
While some factions blame Obama for bailouts, another blames him for not standing with holdouts for a bailout.
Meanwhile Palin starts a war on comedy as an expert on double standards. What started as a reasonable admonition to David Letterman who made a disparaging joke that did implicate her under aged daughter, soon bordered on pandering violence. While this is a big stretch from Letterman not wanting to be caught "off guard", it is more innuendoed than the error of the joke(which daughter) distracting from its original distastefulness(to daughters in general*). Now will Palin go after Death Talkers or will Letterman go more political shock jock or start a blog?
It is my opinion that Letterman should apologize for the jokes erroneous implication and the overall distastefulness of the subject.[**] Then Palin should work on her fellow partisans and "so-called" conservative "leaders", be they elected or sponsored in their "free" speech; in particular surrounding the improper use of words like socialism and racism and the irony and empathy of Alaskan ownership of resources. If she could make as good a showing with her "so-called" friends, it would be a service to her party and the nation.

If she could make as good a showing with her "so-called" friends, it would be a service to her party and the nation.

Revolutionary Update
Now this is spin. Psycho Spin.
Meanwhile the certain programs and their guests should be charged with terrorism and torture of intelligence. Are civil charges warranted? What about corporate responsibility and the death penalty? Not to mention corporate marriage and incest? As long as I am flaming, smoke and mirrors maybe a tack for the unlikely partners in the same sex fight would be the nature of corporate personhood and interstate commerce. I believe their strategy has something to do with equal protection, but would it be possible to tie in the issues of incorporation and interstate commerce rights? And given Cheney's use of intelligence, he certainly doesn't help many causes.

The issue is the use of words and the foundation of our nation on the constitution for the purpose of justice for the people. After that it takes a village idiot and a dictionary. There are only three branches of government. None supreme, but they have their separations in the constitution after that "it is not a location" but it is out there. There is no department of interpretation, but the courts do decide and the rest must interpret. That all three branches make law is a valid charge in their following it or not and the process keeping up.)

There are right decisions not to vote for right legislation because the right exists.
This could be obtuse but it could be the nature of progress. It is at least how our government works.
I wish I could paraphrase my contribution to the dialogue, or even recapture the sentiment, but I will add that sometimes progress is a result of mistakes, and Boy George have we learned. And in context add that all politics is local, but it takes a... well at least four. Thanks Hillary.

Since congress is not a marriage and nor are the relationships with the executive and the judiciary, just keep in mind in any sinking ship we must bail while we heave ho.

The Straw Bear
If a Republican runs in the woods and can’t see the forest for the trees and the Republican falls, does anyone hear what the bear does in the woods?
A little riddle on the straw bear of propaganda.
Ah, the power of myth.
Maybe this is a mother goose chase but those were the days. Speak softly and carry a big stick. Speaking of Teddy Bear, did you know that Wilson made Pershing the first general since the Civil War? The Palin Romney romp through the woods with a bear is quite humorous. It reminds me of, if a tree falls and what a bear does and if anyone will see the forest for what we hear* fall.
The point is that the use of "some people" makes faulty facts bearable. I do not think there is any information that the U.S. was anywhere near losing its dominance in military spending or economic might. In fact I believe that it was over twice the combined spending of the China and the former Soviet Union at the time it fell. In fact it was them coming to an economic grip with reality that did them in. So now China is a different bear and we need no bull in our cabinets.
So war is a straw bear argument. That just means that you have to keep fighting it; the fear mongering and comedy that goes back to our nations birth. Heck beyond, I will say probably cave paintings. But it is no laughing matter that even if the current 6 to 1 ratio has the profit factored out, we could be in trouble.

Maybe this is a mother goose chase but those were the days. Speak softly and carry a big stick. Speaking of Teddy Bear, did you know that Wilson made Pershing the first general since the Civil War? The Palin Romney romp through the woods with a bear is quite humorous. It reminds me of, if a tree falls and what a bear does and if anyone will see the forest for what we hear* fall.
The point is that the use of "some people" makes faulty facts bearable. I do not think there is any information that the U.S. was anywhere near losing its dominance in military spending or economic might. In fact I believe that it was over twice the combined spending of the China and the former Soviet Union at the time it fell. In fact it was them coming to an economic grip with reality that did them in. So now China is a different bear and we need no bull in our cabinets.
So war is a straw bear argument. That just means that you have to keep fighting it; the fear mongering and comedy that goes back to our nations birth. Heck beyond, I will say probably cave paintings. But it is no laughing matter that even if the current 6 to 1 ratio has the profit factored out, we could be in trouble.

Goldberg and Hannity have some interesting points aside*.
Meaning they seem to have presented an argument for prosecutions for lying to the American People, not to mention looking back.

To be fair and balanced, I doubt he would apply the same standards to himself or the past. I do think prosecution is the thing, only the forum is the question.

[First let me say that my sorting above might hinge on the charge of "political expediency". That is what former CIA Director Porter Goss accused Speaker Pelosi of employing, if not amnesia. But really I think it could be more a matter of not being able to be direct about who was told what by whom when and when was it authorized** to implement or leak. OK, enough parsing or passing the buck game, but the new game in town is also "political expediency" with the move of Sen. Arlen Specter announcing his switch and plan to run in the Democratic primary to finish out his legecy.

The Senator should face the music and correct things right away. Maybe the Fairness Doctrine then? Just kidding. He should start with Steven Colbert. CORRECTION: The Ed Show (Apparently he handled Colbert well enough, and Ed Schultz is who he should fish or cut bait with.)
The Senator makes some very good points even though his list is not fair and balanced on the face of it.

My last crack might be off kilter but I am implying I know the spin on these verses and might support the latter over the former. It would only be fair not necessarily balanced to read them.

[Some are fond of saying that you cannot tax corporations since costs will be passed bown, well deductions are also passed up, so I think that the balance has been (only) slightly struck. Nonetheless some points may be drawn from both pieces but not without more striking out into how work only trickles up and maybe money should not be treated as capital let alone a product or the point.]
[Not to mention the Triplex of Hitchens, Hartmann and Hedges or the rational middle? It is more likely the tri-pod of progress, or heart, hedge and hitch.]

[It struck me that the title is just part of the set up and works well at that. I mean it was typical of me to assume that each Cc: was an indication that the sender did not know what "shovel ready" even means. (Maybe they do, maybe they don't, but it fits into my spin as I fell for it.)]
FYI: Most projects start from the ground up. I can't really think of any that don't. There is also the term in projects called "breaking ground", which takes a shovel or other heavy equipment. So really I guess I have made even more sense of the cartoon, since stimulus is a lot like fertilizer. I wonder where the blank think it comes from?
I use the term "blank", because I did not want to pin it on just the Republicans, Conservatives or the rich since that would be too much of a PC.(Political Cartoon)* But I wonder just what they are thinking.

My play with words was the thing and the The Provacateur is aptly titled and actually fair and balanced for a righty but the results will be the thing. Oops, my "war against class war" typo lost an "n" which I picked up in OT*, whose link is accidently apropos in dropping the ball of context, like employment, the housing bubble, and debt. Which allows me to pick up and run with a comment which almost dribbled off my court of discourse, called inflation. One can keep passing the ball or the buck but when there is a leak or continual need to pump it up, something has got to get charged up. And I almost had a turn over again, but the bottomline is, that the median income would not have risen without all the spending, which would not have happened without the borrowing, not to mention the cost of war which buried us more. It must be remembered that no budget can exclude true costs, and they have always said that freedom is not free, but the budget must include the cost of peace and progress. Not to mention the price of values and the passing the buck.

My comment (not finding the draft or text): It seems that promotion of tolerance is hard to achieve by some sort of intolerance. Yet tolerance of intolerance is so difficult. I feel that the discussion is about a renogiation of terms and well as fields or spheres of influence.
